PRP Hair Restoration For Men
There are many potential causes of hair loss, including medical conditions, medications, and physical or emotional stress.
In men, hair loss usually begins above the temples and recedes, often progressing to baldness. In women, hair loss is a gradual thinning at the part line, followed by increasing diffuse hair loss radiating from the top of the head.
What Should I Do If I Notice Hair Loss?
If you notice unusual hair loss of any kind, it’s important to see primary care provider or a dermatologist, to determine the cause and appropriate treatment. You may also want to ask your clinician for a referral to a therapist or support group to address emotional difficulties.
Hair loss can be frustrating, but recent years have seen an increase in resources for coping with the problem.
What Causes Your Hair to Fall Out?
- Hormonal changes
- Poor Nutrition
This is why a good history and medical exam is essential in determining the right solutions.
Fortunately, PRP Hair Restoration has been a key advancement in the treatment of hair loss.
This technology helps harvest the PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) to be used for therapeutic reasons in the patient.
This is basically an “elixir” of enriched proteins, growth factors, and wound healing ingredients that can be used for rejuvenation and healing. Once your PRP is prepared from your blood, we used a very small needle to inject it to the treatment area, such as the skin or the hair. Since it is derived from your own body, PRP is natural and safe.
How long does it take for PRP to work?
As with any other procedure that promotes your own natural healing, the results are not immediate. It takes weeks to months to see the full results of rejuvenation.
PRP harnesses your own natural plasma, growth factors, and chemicals for healing so it is hard to compare any two patient’s quality or strength of PRP! Therefore, part of the PRP hair treatment success is the quality of the plasma of the patient.
Patients are usually in the office for about an hour and a half. It takes about 20 minutes to process the PRP and at least another 10-20 minutes for Dr. Kormeili to administer the PRP. We use an anesthetic to make the procedure as comfortable as possible!
How much does PRP Hair Loss Treatment cost?
It can be purchased alone or as a package. Depending on the extent of the condition, therefore, prices vary. It can range from $650-$1000 on average.
Is PRP Hair Restoration painful?
We use both topically cream numbing as well as lidocaine in our PRP mixture to create further comfort. Using ice also helps fight any discomfort from PRP injections. After the PRP is injected you may experience some mild soreness at the injection sites.
How long do PRP results last?
PRP harnesses your own natural plasma, growth factors, and chemicals for healing the new collagen made in an effort to rejuvenate or treat scars, so the results are yours to keep. Of course, as with all of our other collagen, there is gradual loss and destruction with aging.
How many PRP sessions are needed for hair loss?
PRP hair loss therapy typically consists of 3-4 treatments every 30 or so days.
Most patients do repeat annual or semi-annual treatments to promote longer lasting results.
What should I do after PRP Hair Restoration treatment?
You can apply cold gel packs or ice to reduce swelling. Avoid vigorous exercise to minimize swelling.
Is PRP for hair loss treatment safe?
PRP rich in your own growth factors and healing chemicals naturally found in your body. It is rare to see any side effects because it essentially is your own natural products being concentrated and re-introduced to the area of hair loss.
A word of caution: please do your research to ensure you are in proper hands. You do not want to have some other person’s PRP injected into you by error because of poorly supervised medical centers. PRP is a medical procedure and needs utmost care and caution to ensure safety.
How do I prepare for my PRP hair treatments?

What our patients are saying:
I had rosacea that caused redness and broken vessels on my face. Dr. Kormeili addressed all of my concerns and set about fixing the redness. I was super excited after my first laser treatment as the improvement was immediately noticeable. The second laser treatment made me look and feel amazing…
I had really bad psoriasis on my scalp that flaked all over my clothes, and it was so embarrassing to sit on board meetings in a black suite with white flakes. My entire attention was on my flakes, and worried what people were thinking when they looked at me, or got close to me at work…
Dr. Kormeili is the BEST!! I have a horrible phobia of needles and she calmed my nerves and had an extremely gentle touch. Painless office visit!
