Your Initial Consultation

Dr. Tanya Kormeili Dermatologist

The initial consultation with Dr. Kormeili will be detailed with the goal of creating an overall treatment plan for you, both short-term and long-term results. After the initial consultation, we can schedule you for any of the procedures discussed and explain your treatment plan to you in detail.

During this consultation, Dr. Kormeili will be reviewing your concerns, general health, medications as well as an appropriate skin exam. You will have an opportunity to ask all your questions and discuss all previous treatments, and how you have responded to them in the past.

Dr. Kormeili will address your concerns and take the time to understand what you were hoping to achieve for your skin health and beauty goals. She will use the physical exam to identify specific issues with your skin, skin type, medical conditions, and to address any medical procedures and or treatments you need. It is entirely up to you if you wish to have a full skin exam or limit the skin exam to any areas of the body you wish to unveil.

Dr. Kormeili will use her clinical judgment to ensure you’re an appropriate candidate for any cosmetic treatments you wish to have. She will also discuss with you, her specific techniques, products, and procedures that can address your concerns, as well as any potential risks involved. She may start you on your “pre-treatment” protocols to make certain procedures safer or reduce the recovery time of a certain procedure. Please make sure you use this time to specifically ask any questions or bring up any unresolved areas of concern for you.

Certain basic procedures such as skin biopsies, cortisone injections, acne surgery, or application of liquid nitrogen may be done during this initial consultation, based on Dr. Kormeili’s judgment. If seen appropriate, you will also be receiving any medications or special instructions for your treatment protocol.

We will schedule a longer appointment following your consultation for more complex or lengthier procedures and surgeries. Certain procedures might have specific instructions to that must be followed to help prep you for the best results and minimize the risk of any complications.

Office Fees

As a team, our office is very conscientious about “being green.” We minimize the use of paper where possible and try to recycle as good citizens of this planet!

As such we have invested in the state of the art technology to help us achieve this. What this means for you:

  1. Our computer software program can estimate your fees for the visit. We understand that knowing your insurance benefits are complex and challenging to understand. We try our best to provide you with the most accurate estimate of the fees for each visit. Any amount not paid by your insurance will be collected AT THE TIME OF THE SERVICE. For example, if you have an unmet deductible or co-pay, we will collect your patient responsibility at the time of your visit. We will bill your insurance if we are in-network with your insurance company. We will issue any refunds, or balance bill only if there are any adjustments. We minimize the use of paper by minimizing the use of paper statements and envelopes each month (in addition to saving paper in our office by using electronic consents and data entry tablets). As a patient, you are less likely to be surprised by any medical bills months later that was unanticipated.
  2. Cancellations less than 24 hours prior to your procedure(s) will result in a charge to your account of 50% of that procedure (including laser procedures, fillers, etc.). We work very hard to accommodate all of our patients’ scheduling needs, and short-notice cancellations take the opportunity of that visit away from another patient eagerly anticipating an appointment.
  3. No Show appointments (or simply Not Showing) at the time of the procedure, will result in a charge to your account of the full cost of that appointment. Given the demand for patients interested to visit our office, we feel that this is a real loss to our ability to care for another patient. Please extend us, and our patients, the courtesy of notifying us if your plans change, or if you need to reschedule an appointment. We will gladly help you figure out another appointment pending availability.
  4. All balances must be paid prior to scheduling any future appointments.

We hope that this helps each patient in planning their appointment with our office. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to caring for you and being your advocates for all your skin health and beauty concerns.
