Known as DPN’s, Dermatosis papulosa nigra are tiny “wart-like” growths on the face, neck, chest or back of patients, usually those with ethnic skin. Though they are safe and never associated with skin cancers, they can become a cosmetic concern to some.
It is important to destroy these lesions gingerly to avoid discoloration of the skin in the treatment areas. Ethnic skin is very susceptible to pigmentary changes after any skin procedure, so it is important that your healthcare provider has experience treating pigmented skin.
Dr. Kormeili works frequently with ethnic skin and will perform a careful clinical evaluation of your needs so you receive the right treatment for you. To discuss your skin’s needs, contact us anytime.
