Tips To Minimize Pores

Patients often want to know what they can do at home to help minimize the appearance of large pores and we give them these same great tips.

Wash Regularly

The first step is to wash regularly because dirt, and make up build up can accentuate our pores. Gentle cleansers can be just as effective if used regularly. Do not sleep with your make up or sunscreen. Clean promptly after working out or sweating excessively. This is the first step in helping to minimize pores.

Chemical Peels

Additionally there are a variety of acids (most very natural fruit acids with little downtime) that can exfoliate the dirt inside enlarged pores and minimize pores in appearance.

Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing

There are also ways that your dermatologist can help you reduce pore size and the minimize pores. For example we use Fraxel laser to help minimize your pores buy adding new collagen to the follicular structure responsible for the pore. To shrink large pores using Fraxel, you must commit to several treatments in order to see reasonable improvement. Laser treatment to shrink pores requires time for the skin to heal and then reapplying energy to induce further positive changes.

IPL Photofacial/Vbeam combo

Brown spots and diffuse brown spots on the face make pores look even worse. Laser treatment to shrink pores may involve creating an even skin tone and color using IPL and or Vbeam laser.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

We have proof that PDT can help resolve acne and minimize your pores by using an active ingredient that penetrates deep into the follicles and when exposed to laser treatment in the office helps shrink large pores.
